Content is a glimpse of something, an encounter like a flash. It's very tiny, very tiny, content.
-Willem de Kooning, in an interview

It is only shallow people who do not judge by appearances. The mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible.

-when we walk in nature we leave behind concerns for the mundane responsibilities and objects and we become less concerned with ourself
- getting lost becomes a way of living, an outlook on life

Work- intuitively, embracing the unknown, learning to become okay with uncertainty

Questions to Ask Yourself?

Exploring my relationship to nature. I am attracted to places with unique landscapes. My relationship with nature or attraction is the ability to become lost when walking, camping. I leave behind mundane obligations to welcome the unknown. You begin to become less concerned with yourself and identity as you begin to become more attuned to the present.
Progess is important to me as well. I have been working intuitively, welcoming the unknown. The work is hopefully to give the sense of consuming the viewer. Ordered chaos.

"maybe if I really paid attention to my life I'd notice that I don't know whats going to happen this afternoon and I can't be fully confident that I'm competent to deal with it. Maybe we're willing to let in that thought. It has some reasonableness to it, I can't exactly know, but chances are, possibilities are, it's not going to be much different than what i've usually experienced and I'll do just fine, so we close up that unsettling possibility with a reasonable response."

"material objects witness everything and say nothing"
Recurring theme in my work is how our identities are created through the technology we use and how technology effects us.
The effect being something we can't completely see or grasp, bigger than us.
Technology as capital.
Like student debt we know its there, numbers, exists but isn't physical.
Internet exists, isn't a physical thing.
Bank Machine- Capital
- Part of society, has control
- Interactive
- "free cash"
- a cold object, dirty, neglected physically?
- cast- creates a monument
- creating a negative- void

- objects that create an emotional response, somethings are as satisfying to explain, you can analysis emotions and why you are sad. Humans are complex, maybe actions, objects, physical things are more therapeutic, satisfying than talking about feelings.
